Welcoming the Newest Members to our ADPi Families

Updated: Oct 5
There is something truly so sweet about watching our new members find their place in Alpha Delta Pi. After all the excitement of recruitment and the friendships that have continued to grow over the past couple of months, each new member brings her own story and personality to Beta Epsilon. This year’s Big Little Reveal was a perfect reminder that, within a chapter of more than five hundred women, each girl can find a family of her own.
For many of our newest members, ADPi already feels like a home away from home. Ashlen Doran, a freshman from Myrtle Beach, shared that the welcoming experiences she had from the very beginning made a lasting impression: “It felt like each girl I talked to, I had known for years.” Likewise, Sophia Taff, who moved to Columbia from Madison, Alabama, described the positivity she felt in the chapter as a “breath of fresh air.”
That sense of comfort and connection has been a theme throughout their first months in ADPi. new member Sofia McQuad described the experience in three words: “friendly, joyful, and comforting,” while Nichole Rayle shared that coming from out of state made her nervous about finding her place. However, the kindness and encouragement of her sisters made the transition so much easier.
Big Little Reveal took those already-growing connections and made them even more impactful and special. Beyond the posters, bed parties, photos, sweet treats, and overall excitement of the night, our newest members gained big sisters, families, mentors, and built-in best friends who will be alongside them throughout their entire college experience. And vice versa, our members in AC ‘25 gained little sisters who they will uplift and encourage for the years to come. For Reese King, that means having “uplifting role models” and mentors to help guide her through freshman year. Selma Mattsson is excited to have someone older to turn to for advice and to build a close connection within the chapter.
For Eva Argo, who doesn’t have any sisters or girl cousins, ADPi has already offered a relationship she had always hoped to experience: “I finally found a place where I feel like girls care about me just as much as I care about them.” Caroline Rogers shared a similar feeling, expressing how she’s excited for the memories ahead with “the best family ever.”
As these new sisterhoods begin, our newest members also have so much to look forward to: Homecoming, philanthropy, sisterhood events, spring break trips, leadership opportunities, and time spent with the women who will become some of their closest friends. Madeline Goslee is excited to continue meeting more members and making an impact through the Ronald McDonald House, while Reese King hopes to become involved in philanthropy and help plan future sisterhood events.
Most of all, these women hope their ADPi experience continues to be one defined by support, growth, and lasting friendship. Sophia McQuad hopes that the women surrounding her in ADPi become “my people and my bridesmaids,” while Ashlen Doran hopes to leave an impact on the chapter and build friendships that remain meaningful long after college.
Big Little Reveal was certainly an unforgettable night, but it truly represents so much more. We are beyond excited to welcome our newest sisters, celebrate the families they have found, and watch them continue to make Beta Epsilon their home.
XOXO, Alpha Delta Pi Beta Epsilon
