A LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF PHILANTHROPY

Mallory Dover | Director of Philanthropy | Beta Epsilon Chapter
Alpha Delta Pi has been such a gift to me and this sisterhood truly has my heart!

Hey y’all!
My name is Mallory Dover and I am so blessed and honored to serve as the Director of Philanthropy for Beta Epsilon this year! I’m so proud to be a part of a chapter that values service and philanthropy the way our chapter does. Each woman in Beta Epsilon has such a giving heart for others, and I’m thrilled to be able to give back to our chapter and community in this position.
Our chapter supports Alpha Delta Pi’s national philanthropy Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay when they have a child in the hospital receiving care and we are lucky enough to have an RMH located just 10 minutes from our campus. This makes it possible for members of our chapter to serve at RMH daily. Our members volunteer by cooking dinner, cleaning, working at the front desk, planning special events, and so much more! We also get the chance to walk the RMH dog, Alphie, who our chapter donated to RMH in 2017. Being able to make a hands-on impact for a cause that means so much to our chapter, truly makes being a part of Beta Epsilon so special.
This past year our chapter raised over $90,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. In order to make this possible, our chapter hosted two major philanthropy events. First, we held our first ever Ronald McDonald House Text-a-Thon in which our members gathered at the ADPi house to create a personal Crowd Change link which they each texted to friends and family asking for support by donating to our annual Pie-a-Pi event held on campus. In the fall, we hosted our first ever Violet Week, where we partnered with local businesses for percent days, hosted a pickle ball tournament, continued asking friends and family for donations, and ended the week with our 5th annual Boot Scootin’ Barbecue. This event is a fun filled night with live music, Southern-style barbecue, and a silent auction. Our sisters work together throughout the year to make all of these fundraising opportunities possible!
In addition, our members participate in several smaller fundraising and service opportunities to support RMH and the Columbia community throughout the year. This past year we volunteered at the annual RMH Clay Shoot; partnered with a local Girl Scout Troop to make breakfast bags for the families at the house; volunteered for set up and clean up at the annual RMH Gala; participated in several Pack the Pantry events; and even volunteered in the RMH Family Room at Prisma Medical Center. Outside of RMH, our members held a blanket drive to help the homeless community; packaged food at a local food pantry; helped organize an adoption day at a local animal shelter; and created blessing bags to pass out to those in need. I am so thrilled that we have been able to make such a big impact throughout all that we do!
Being a part of ADPi the past 3 years has been one of my biggest blessings and serving in this position is such an exciting new part of that! I’m hoping to plan some really exciting new things this year and I can’t wait to see all we will accomplish to serve our community and RMH!
XOXO,
Mallory
