We are so blessed and excited to share with you all our philanthropic organization and its incredible impacts. We are so proud to aid Ronald McDonald House as the national Alpha Delta Pi philanthropy. We are especially excited because we are lucky enough to have a RMHC right here in Columbia! We constantly provide our services to them allowing their families to feel a little more at ease. Please read below to learn more about RMHC and our contributions!

Ronald McDonald House Charities is a non-profit corporation that provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. RMHC helps families with sick children stay together and close to the medical care their child needs at leading hospitals worldwide. With over 380 Chapters in more than 62 countries and regions, Ronald McDonald House Charities provides access to quality healthcare and family-centered care.

Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been a committed partner of RMHC, contributing over $8.9 million. Our chapter, Beta Epsilon, actively supports RMHC, particularly the house located just ten minutes from our campus. We engage in daily volunteer activities such as cooking meals, cleaning, assisting at the front desk, and caring for Alphie, the Golden Doodle we donated in 2017. This past year, we raised over $52,000 through events like our Pie-a-Pi, Letter Writing Campaign, Boot Scootin BBQ, and various on-campus fundraisers.

Today, more than 300 Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility. In addition to donating money to this worthwhile cause, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at these houses.

We are so thankful for our amazing director or Philanthropy, Hadley Terry AC '22. She does so much for our chapter and leads an incredible team. Without them, all of our contributions would not be possible! We asked her to share more about her position and RMHC:

"Hey y’all!

My name is Hadley Terry and I serve as Beta Epsilon’s 2025 Director of Philanthropy. I am so lucky to be a part of a chapter that is passionate about service and I am honored to be able to serve all 506 of my sisters through this position. Alpha Delta Pi has been such a gift to me and this sisterhood truly has my heart!

Alpha Delta Pi nationally serves Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay when they have a child in the hospital receiving critical care. Our chapter is lucky enough to have an RMH located just 10 minutes from our campus. Because of this proximity, we can have girls at the house daily completing many tasks such as cooking meals, cleaning, working at the front desk, and walking Alphie, the Golden Doodle our chapter donated to RMH back in 2017.

This past year, our chapter raised over $52,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. To make this possible, our chapter holds two major Philanthropy events each year. Our Pie-a-Pi Letter Writing Campaign takes place in the spring semester. At this event, all of our sisters gather at the Pi Palace and write letters to friends, family, and alumni asking them to sponsor a sister during our Pie-a-Pi event that takes place on campus in the following weeks. In the fall we host our chapter’s annual Boot Scootin BBQ. The event kicks off our University of South Carolina parent’s weekend with a night full of country music, BBQ, and a silent auction!

In addition to these two major events, we hold many small fundraising events on campus throughout the year such as bake sales and percent nights at local businesses.

Serving in this position is honestly a dream come true! Thank you for supporting our chapter through the endeavors that we are so passionate about!"

XOXO,

Hadley Terry

We hope you learned more about our philanthropy, and will check RMHC out for yourself to see all it has to offer!

Love,

ALPHA DELTA PI
