Although the Recruitment process seems incredibly overwhelming and intimidating, we are here to help you navigate through! This time is such a great experience and we want to make sure that you make the most from journey as a PNM. So, we asked a few of our members to share their best advice for success during this process.
Vice President of Recruitment, Bailey Allen AC '23

"If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to spend this time making friends! College is all about new beginnings, and Recruitment is an amazing opportunity to meet people before classes even start. I can't tell you how many times I stood in line for events next to girls who later became my sisters. Running home on Bid Day and seeing familiar faces from my Pi Chi group, lunch breaks, and line chats made the experience that much more special. One of my best friends and roommates to this day is a sister that I met in my Pi Chi group! Since going through Recruitment in 2023, ADPi has become more than I ever imagined—it’s where I found my best friends, future bridesmaids, mentors, and classmates. I’d give anything to be in your shoes again, starting freshman year and stepping into this incredible journey. Soak it all in, this is such a special time in your life!"
With love,

"If I could give one piece of advice to any PNM, it would be to just be yourself. You don’t need to have the perfect answers or say what you think people want to hear—just be kind, be confident, and stay true to who you are. Recruitment can feel overwhelming at times, but it’s also such a special way to grow, learn, and meet the people who will make college feel like home. Trust your heart and don’t forget to enjoy it. Looking back, Alpha Delta Pi was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. This sisterhood has brought me so much more than I ever expected—real friendships, endless support, and the confidence to grow into someone I’m proud of. These girls are the kind of people I always hoped to find in college-the ones who show up for you, celebrate you, and make every moment feel special. If I could go back and talk to my freshman-year self, the nervous girl who was scared to leave home and start over, I’d tell her that everything’s going to work out even better than she imagined. I never expected to feel this connected, this loved, or this seen. Being part of ADPi has completely shaped my college experience, and I’d choose it again a thousand times over. It’s my home away from home, and I’m so grateful for every memory and every friendship it’s given me."
All my love,
Sarah Kate

"To all the incoming PNMs who may be feeling nervous, and overwhelmed about leaving home for the first time and stepping into the next chapter of life—my biggest piece of advice is to remember to push yourself outside of your comfort zone, be your most authentic self, have fun, and soak up every single moment.
I remember exactly how I felt going through recruitment for the first time—excited, nervous, overwhelmed, and honestly a little unsure of what I was walking into. What I didn’t realize then was that this new experience would quickly become one of the most meaningful parts of my college journey. I was about to find something so much bigger than myself—a sisterhood that would shape me into the woman I am today and give me so many experiences and friendships I am forever grateful for.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that Alpha Delta Pi was my home away from home. Since that day, ADPi has given me more than I ever imagined—lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and the confidence to grow into a leader. I came in as a shy and uncertain first-year student, and now I have the incredible opportunity to lead the very chapter that helped me grow into the person I am today, and I truly couldn't have done it without the love and support of my sisters. We absolutely cannot wait to meet you, hear your story, and share the sisterhood that means so much to us. Joining Alpha Delta Pi has truly been one of the most meaningful and life-changing decisions I’ve ever made. I truly hope you feel the same love, encouragement, and support that Alpha Delta Pi has given me. No matter where your journey takes you, know that I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!"

"If I could give y’all one piece of advice for the recruitment process, it would be to just be yourself and remember that everything happens for a reason. Have so, so much fun and enjoy every moment because it goes by so much faster than you think!" Nolan Howard
"My advice coming into recruitment is to be confident in yourself and don’t let the process intimidate you, you’ll end up exactly where you’re meant to be. Recruitment is so fun and you will meet some amazing people so enjoy this time as a PNM and make the best of it! We can’t wait to meet you!!

"My advice is to be authentically you, while being mindful of how you present yourself to others. Recruitment can often be overwhelming, but staying true to your values will naturally lead you to the girls who are meant to be your sisters. Treat every conversation with kindness and respect. Remember we were all in your shoes, not too long ago, and are genuinely so excited for you to experience the joy of this process."
